Packing is traditionally meant to protect goods. However, it is also a promotional tool and a major image builder contributing to product success. Packing is a process that speaks of company’s ability to contain economically man made or natural products for shipment, storage, sale or final use. ‘Packaging’ on the other hand deals with activities of planning and designing of different means of packaging the product. However, it should be noted that packing is concerned with product protection while packaging is concerned product promotion.
